Ashford Ladies progress in the JGMT

John Greenacre Memorial Trophy result...
Ashford Town (Middlesex) Ladies progressed to the third round of the John Greenacre Memorial Trophy with a convincing 15-0 victory of Wealdstone Ladies.
The opening five minutes of the game saw both teams gifting possession and Wealdstone the only team to have registered a shot with a speculative effort going wide.
The Tangerines' goal kick saw the home side carve their first opportunity of the game resulting in an Ashford corner. Alissa Down delivered it into the box for Charlotte Baker to score (10).
Ashley Cheatley doubled the lead five minutes later with a smart finish underneath the goalkeeper (15) before Lavana Neufville grabbed one of her own with an inspiring run through the middle of the pitch and a finish to match (22).
Cheatley got herself on the score sheet again as well Neufville to send The Tangerines in with their tales up.
Dana Johnson and Laura Huse were introduced to the action in the second half and both made immediate impacts.
Johnson delivered in a cross for Down to rifle into the bottom corner (46) before adding one of her own shortly after (51).
Huse latched onto another corner (51), before Down scored the goal of the game on the hour mark, lobbing the goalkeeper from 25 yards out (60).
Both Cheatley and Johnson completed proceedings with more of their own.

A special mention to 16 year-old Elizabeth Kriebel, who made her first competitive outing for the first team, playing 90 minutes and coming close on a number of occasions with long range efforts.
