Samara Phillips-Hines came on to score a last minute winner as Ashford Town (Middlesex) Ladies beat New London Lionesses 4-3 in an action packed County Cup clash.
Ashford had been on the front foot but went behind after just ten minutes on the clock with The Lionesses forward passing into an empty net.
Ashford dominated possession and saw more of the ball however struggled to break down the away side in the final third until Hannah Pearson’s free kick from the left flew into the net.
New London Lionesses led for the second time, when their through pass into the forward was struk in again from close range.
The away side stretched their lead in the second half when their forward looked to have gained an advantage using her hand to direct the bill into her path, she still had a lot to do however and calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
Maddie Bone, Lucy Thornton and Samara Phillips were introduced early on in the second half and were integral to The Tangerines’ comeback.
Pearson delivered in another inviting free-kick, this time to be headed in at the far post by Lavana Neufville.
Charmaine Benham levelled the scoring with less than ten minutes on the clock when she latched onto Claire Samuels through pass and beat the goalkeeper at the far post.
The home bench then erupted when Pearsons corner was met by Phillips-Hines at the front post and made no mistake with her header to complete the comeback.
