The best way to keep up to date with Ashford Town (Middlesex) Ladies FC

Ashford Town (Middlesex) Ladies lose to Denham Ladies 3-1

11 months ago By William Boye

Ashford Ladies showed many positives despite pre season defeat to another Womens Premier League side.

Ashford Town (Middlesex) Ladies fell to a 3-1 defeat to higher-league opposition Denham United Ladies.

The game was played in good spirits with Denham starting the strongest, creating opportunities early on.

It was the home side Denham, who opened the scoring with a low drive into the bottom corner.

Despite the home team dominating possession they struggled to break through Ashford's defensive unit again. It was in fact Ashford's Lavana Neufville who finished Sequoia Belworthy's perfectly weighted cross.

H/T: 1-1

Both teams made plenty of changes in the second half with trialists on show for The Tangerines.

The game was a lot more open this half with both teams stretched for large moments of the game.

Denham scored two long range goals whilst Ashford uncharacteristically missed many opportunities in the final third.

F/T: 3-1

There were many positives to draw from this game, with Ashford demonstrating a very pleasing defensive display in the first half and continuing to create goal scoring opportunities throughout.

Next week is another away trip to Whyteleafe Ladies.
