Ashford Town (Middlesex) Women's progressed to the Preliminary Round of the Women's FA Cup with a 4-1 triumph over Denham United.

The Tangerines, who will play hosts to Oxford City Women's in the next round, did not have it their own way in the first half and saw the game evenly poised for the opening half an hour.

The hosts however were awarded their third corner of the half which Alissa Down dispatched and Charmaine Benham expertly finished with a rocket of a header into the roof of the net.

The second half saw Ashford Town Women create many more attacking opportunities and just eight minutes into the second half Benham this time turned provider by playing in behind Lavana Neufville who doubled the lead. The lively Neufville got her second minutes after with a near post finish.

Denham United never looked out of the game despite a three goal cushion but their job was made even harder when they reduced to 10 players, after Annie Hewitt received her second yellow card of the game.

The away sided never gave in and even managed to reduce the deficit by adding a goal of their own, scored by Rae Roberts.

Holly Isaacs grabbed Ashford's fourth and final goal with one minute from time, volleying in debutant Jade Johnson's cross into the bottom corner.
